itrvl Booking, Payment, and Escrow Process at a Glance
Is the itrvl payment process right for you? Read this quick overview to find out.
Figuring out a payment process for your agency is a pain. It's almost impossible to find credit card facilities that help minimize the risk of chargebacks without excessive fees; and don't get us started on creating and maintaining operations around a payment process.
itrvl's payment process arose out of travel agencies' need for an easy, trusted payment facility. Our solution is a process that simplifies payments for travel businesses and provides peace of mind for customers. Our integrated escrow process holds funds securely until they're needed for the booking to proceed. We take care of it, so you don't have to. Here's how it works!
1. Generate Invoices on a Provisionally Held Itinerary
When your client is serious about moving forward with an itinerary proposal, you can proceed to click the "Request Hold" button on the Itinerary Detail screen. This will provisionally hold accommodations and services on the itinerary, and send an email to your Wilderness Journey Specialist to ensure that all is in order as you proceed with this trip proposal.
Once the itinerary is in the "Provisional Hold" status, you know that your accommodations are secured and your itinerary is ready for confirmation. To confirm your itinerary your client will have to pay their deposit in their client portal.
Click the "Generate Invoices" button in the top right corner of the page to enable the itinerary for client deposit payment.
2. Edit Invoices and Share with the Client
With invoices generated (and assuming you haven't hidden the sell price), this itinerary's payment portal is now enabled. You'll see a new tab appear on the "Itinerary Detail" screen titled "Payments". Clicking here will show the breakdown of your invoices which line up with the Cost Summary for the trip as set up above.
Cost Summary:
You can click "Edit Payments" if you'd like to adjust the invoice totals. Perhaps you'd prefer to charge your clients a rounded number, maybe split the invoices to allow for per-party payments, or add new invoices if changes are made to the itinerary that require additional payments.
Now that the Payment Portal is enabled, your client will see a nice, big "Confirm Booking" button on their itinerary's Adventure Screen.
Clicking here will take them to the payment portal where they can make their deposit payment!
3. Making Deposit Payment
When your client is ready to make their deposit they will click the "Confirm Booking" button on their itineraries' "Adventure Screen" and be prompted to review, accept itrvl's terms and conditions, and make their deposit payment.
Clients have the option to pay by Credit Card, Wire or Bank Transfer. However, clients who choose to pay via Wire or Bank Transfer will be eligible to a 2.5% discount. (Make sure to use the final discount to your advantage when selling, your clients will be very happy!)
By utilizing itrvl's payment process you will be able to easily take payment from your client without having to pay those annoying credit card fees all while maintaining a high level of security with your payments.
