Understanding the Itinerary Details Screen
See your built out itinerary complete with transfers, margin and more.
The Itinerary Details screen is where the magic of itrvl happens, but how does it work?
Once you have built out your itinerary through the accommodations selector and quoting page itrvl will bring you to the Itinerary Details screen. This is where you will see your itinerary laid out complete with transfers, supplier cost, sell price, and more.
Let's get into the nuts and bolts of the itinerary screen so you are armed with all the knowledge necessary to efficinetly build quotes that are up to your standard. Let's start with cost, or pick one of the following categories to skip ahead.
Itinerary Costing
itrvl automatically costs your itinerary upon creation. itrvl receives costing for accommodations, transfers and more from the Wilderness Window that has upated daily rates loaded to give you the most accurate costing to date.
In the top right corner of the Itinerary Details page you will see 4 numbers.
Let's start witht hte numbers in the blue box.
The numbers in the blue box are the numbers that are visible to your client.
These are your Selling Price and Deposit.
Selling Price
In itrvl your Selling Price is made up of three different numbers: supplier cost, margin, and escrow service fees.
Supplier Cost: The amount each supplier requires for your client to stay at each accommodation for the allotted amount of time.
Margin: Your commission from the trip. This is up to you or your agency. You are able to manually adjust your margin through itrvl's margin sliders found on the Itinerary Details Screen, or by adjusting the selling price of individual line items.
Escrow: The cost itrvl charges to keep your and your clients money safe and secure in our escrow facilities up until travel. Protecting you from chargeback, the hassle of handling payment, and more. Learn more about our escrow service here:
At itrvl, our escrow services offer financial security for you and your guest, keeping all funds safe and secure throughout the booking process and travel.
Below we have outlined the itrvl escrow process and how the stakeholders (itrvl, agent, and guest) interact.
Once a booking has been provisionally held in itrvl the next step is to generate invoices, ultimately creating the payment portal link you will share with your guest.
Your guest will then pay their trip deposit directly into the itrvl escrow account via credit card or a bank transfer (wire or ACH).
itrvl escrow receives deposit funds and a guest receipt is automatically generated. Itrvl notifies you and your Wilderness Consultant that payment has been received. itrvl notifies your Wilderness Consultant deposit has been received and that the booking may proceed to confirmation.
On the first disbursement (Escrow disburses funds on the 1st and 15th of each month.) itrvl escrow pays the deposit portion to:
You the agent, a deposit margin as established during costing in itrvl. (See Fine-Tuning your Sell Price for more detailed information)
The suppliers, via the Wilderness DMC
90 days prior to travel, the remaining balance (full payment) becomes due from your guest and paid to the itrvl escrow account either via wire/ACH transfer or by credit card through itrvl’s secure payment portal (Stripe).
itrvl escrow receives funds and a guest receipt is automatically generated. You and Wilderness are notified.
Balance payment remains with itrvl escrow throughout your guest's journey.
On final disbursement after the conclusion of the guest’s journey, itrvl escrow pays:
You, the remainder of your margin on the booking
The suppliers via the Wilderness DMC
Overall, itrvl offers a comprehensive payment solution that simplifies transactions between you, your guest, and suppliers. Giving you the peace of mind that you and your guest's money is safe and secure.
